Should I or shouldn’t I?

Do you find yourself constantly being indecisive with things in your life and not knowing which direction to go? Do simple decisions become monumental tasks?

If going in circles or throwing your hands up has become a way of life for you when dealing with decisions, then your indecisiveness has become a problem.

Stress plays a major role in indecisiveness.

Fear of making the wrong choice is why most people hesitate. What if I make a mistake? What if I waste time, energy or money? What if I fail? What will others think? Questions like these often keep us spinning our wheels.

Over analyzing situations keeps us running in place. Sometimes we look at things from every angle, side and possibility and still miss the truth. We turn over, examine and deduce every possible line of reasoning rather than just accepting things for what they are. We find meaning in every situation.

Lacking confidence in yourself or your skillset feeds indecisiveness. Indecision is common in people who lack self-esteem. If you don’t have confidence, you won’t be able to make decisions with conviction. Even the simplest of decisions can be colossal, whether it is what to eat for dinner or what to wear to work. Feeling incapable makes us rely on others rather than doing what is important for ourselves.

In the end, the only bad decision is indecision, because it leads to inaction. And without action, there’s no progress or growth.

Take the next step.
