Denial.

As a therapist, I regularly talk to people who fool themselves into believing that everything is okay.

Denial is a psychological defense mechanism that helps a person avoid a potentially upsetting truth. Denial is also a fantastic way to “avoid” when we don’t know how to fix the situation or when we don’t want to deal with the problem.

If “fake it ‘til you make it” is no longer serving you, therapy can help you. Therapy can teach you how to look for the red flags and begin to question your assumptions and break your negative cycle. If we keep finding ourselves in the same negative situation and clueless as to why we are here, then we are probably in denial about something.

Let’s start your journey today.
